FFXIV Costume Design Contest

Its happening again, the great overlords at square are letting us be the leatherworkers and armorers we always wanted to be. This gear design contest involves designing gear sets for Melee DPS, and Physical Ranged DPS. The grand prize is your own gear set being implemented into FFXIV for all to wear. The promotion begins April 19th and goes until May the 21st, for those artists out there in G’ Land here is how you enter.

Step 1:

Create digital images (“Images”) of gear for either (i) a melee damage per second class (“DPS”) or (ii) physical ranged DPS class FINAL FANTASY XIV character (including head, body, hands, legs, and feet) that comply with the following requirements:

  • You must create the Images using digital graphics software or by capturing a photo of artwork you have created by hand.
  • The design must show both the front and back of the gear.
  • The gear must be for all of the following: head, body, hands, legs, and feet.
  • You must include any additional information and/or explanations within the entry image itself (for example, pointing out any aspects of the gear that may be hidden when equipping the full set).
  • Design may feature any in-game race/gender combinations. However, the entry must be a gear design that can be used by any race/gender.
  • You may feature a weapon to go along with your armor/clothing design, but only armor will be implemented into the game.
  • The development team will assign in-game parameters and stats.

Step 2:

Send an email over to ffxiv_contest@square-enix.com The subject of the email should be either: Gear Design Contest Melee DPS or Gear Design Contest Physical Ranged DPS. The emails body needs to contain:

  • Character name and world name (required)
  • Nickname (required)
  • Entry title
  • Any additional comments about the entry (50 words or less)
  • Attach the image of your design:
    • 1-2 images: front design and back design are both required
    • Image format needs to be either JPG or PNG
    • File size for each image needs to be over 500kb but total email size less than 3MB (wow square being nitpicky)

An initial announcement of finalists will be announced around July of 2018 and a final design will be chosen around September of 2018.

April 2018 Events!!!

This month we are lucky enough to have two open Sundays which means the event committee is coming at you with TWO events this month!

On 4-22 we are having our G’ Trivia night a fun night of prizes and FF trivia. Its being held in the G4 house at Shirogane Housing District, Ward 2, Plot 37. Get your thinking caps on and you typing fingers ready, grab a few friends and prepare to shout it out. People from all levels of final fantasy knowledge come out for a good time!

On 4-29 at pm est we are holding our officer auction officers from every FC come out and go up for auction. They have to do anything you ask for two hours. Need the eureka mount? want someone to run though the dungeons for anima weapons? want someone to stand in the middle of Lower Limsa and slander Lalafell for an hour? (Yeah, I did that). Need someone to gather the materials for the new weapons they don’t have a choice. Come down to the G1 house at The Goblet, Ward 1, Plot 30 and bring your gil. Every senior officer and up is going up for auction! Come support your FC and make slaves out of your officers. You can even get a fantasia and make them be a male roe for a week.

*If you decide to make an officer fantasia, you must provide them with TWO fantasia potions, one at the beginning and end of the week long period.
